About Shona

At the age of 14, a deep and powerful healing experience with God propelled Shona to embark on a life journey of inclusivity, love and fellowship. This marked the start of a spiritual journey which eventually culminated in ordained ministry.

Shona first completed a BSc Med at the University of the Witwatersrand and worked as a medical underwriter in the corporate world. During this time she started providing guidance to spiritual groups focused on the teaching of mystics. Following the birth of her two children, she completed both a Post Graduate Diploma in Education and a Bachelor Degree in Theology, Cum Laude.

She then worked as a youth pastor and further extended her passion for teaching and learning by launching an Anglican Diocesan Youth Programme called Transformers, a platform that encouraged exposure to new theological and leadership.

Shona also completed a 2-year course in Inner Healing that covered the psychological value of the healing of memories.

As a Commissioner of Oath and marriage officer Shona is licensed by FAMSA to offer Prepare and Enrich couples counselling. But, more importantly, her work in bereavement counselling and helping the terminally ill to transition from this life to the next has transformed many lives.

Shona is the Rector of St Mark’s Anglican Church in Northriding and Archdeacon of the Anglican Church in the Diocese of Johannesburg. She also hosts a popular motivational, devotional radio programme called Sunrise with Shona on Hot 91.9 FM.
